Technical Specs: Mailer Boxes

An overview of the standard customizations available for corrugated mailer boxes.

Materials

Flutes, which are wavy lines, are sandwiched between two flat layers of paperboard to create corrugated board. This material is used to provide strength and durability to your packaging.

E-flute
This option is the most popular and typically has a flute thickness ranging from 1.2 to 2mm.

B-flute
This option is well-suited for larger boxes and heavier products, as it offers added strength and durability. It features a flute thickness of 2.5-3mm, making it a sturdier choice than the more commonly used option with a flute thickness of 1.2-2mm.

Materials

Printed designs are applied onto the base materials, which are then affixed to the corrugated board to create the final product. Sustainability is a priority, as all materials used contain a minimum of 50% post-consumer content (recycled waste).

White
Looking for paper that provides exceptional print quality? Solid Bleached Sulfate (SBS) paper is an excellent choice. This high-quality material is renowned for its ability to produce crisp, vibrant, and detailed prints. Choose SBS paper if you want to make a lasting impression on your customers with packaging that showcases the finest details of your design.

Brown Kraft
If you’re looking for a packaging material that is perfect for black or white printing, unbleached brown paper is an excellent option. This type of paper provides a natural, organic look and feel that complements minimalist designs with simple color schemes. Choose unbleached brown paper if you want to create a down-to-earth packaging solution that is both stylish and eco-friendly.

Print

To ensure that our packaging is as eco-friendly as possible, we use soy-based ink for all our printing needs. This type of ink not only produces brighter and more vibrant colors but is also a sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based inks. By choosing soy-based ink, you can rest assured that your packaging solution is not only visually striking but also environmentally responsible.

Compare CMYK & Pantone

CMYK
When it comes to printing, the CMYK color system is a popular and cost-effective choice. This color model is widely used in the printing industry because it is capable of producing a broad spectrum of colors by mixing just four ink colors – cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Choose CMYK if you want a high-quality printing solution that is both affordable and versatile.

Pantone
If you’re looking for a printing solution that delivers precise and consistent brand colors, consider using the Pantone Matching System (PMS). This system is specifically designed to ensure that your colors are printed accurately, making it an excellent choice for brands that require color consistency across different media. While PMS printing may be more expensive than CMYK printing, it offers superior color accuracy and is an ideal choice for high-end products that demand the utmost attention to detail.

Coating

To safeguard your printed designs from scratches and scuffs, we offer a protective coating that is applied after printing. This coating acts as a barrier against wear and tear, ensuring that your packaging looks as good as new even after repeated use. Choose this option if you want to enhance the durability of your packaging and protect your designs from everyday wear and tear.

Compare varnish & lamination

Lamination
We offer a plastic coating option that provides an extra layer of protection for your designs, shielding them from cracks and tears. However, it’s important to note that this option is not the most eco-friendly. While it does provide enhanced durability, it does so at the expense of environmental impact. Consider this option if you prioritize durability over eco-friendliness, but keep in mind that we also offer a range of more sustainable coating options that provide excellent protection without compromising the environment.

Varnish
This is a statement that describes an eco-friendly water-based coating used for packaging that doesn’t provide the same level of protection as lamination. Here’s one way to say it differently:

We offer an eco-friendly water-based coating option for our packaging that is a more sustainable alternative to lamination. However, it’s important to note that this coating doesn’t provide the same level of protection as lamination.

Finishes

Make your packaging stand out with a range of finish options that add that extra touch of elegance and sophistication. Our finish options are designed to complement your packaging and provide a cohesive look and feel that elevates your brand. Choose from a variety of finishes including gloss, matte, soft touch, and more, to achieve the perfect look for your product. Whether you're going for a sleek and modern design or a more classic and refined aesthetic, our finish options will help you create the perfect packaging solution.

Compare finishes

Matte
If you’re looking for a sophisticated and refined finish for your packaging, our soft touch option is the perfect choice. Soft touch adds a luxurious feel to your packaging, with a smooth and non-reflective finish that exudes elegance and style. This finish provides an overall softer look, with a velvety texture that feels great to the touch. Choose soft touch for a finish that truly stands out and adds that extra touch of sophistication to your packaging.

Satin
For a finish that strikes the perfect balance between matte and glossy, our satin finish is an excellent choice. With a semi-shiny appearance, this finish adds just the right amount of sheen to your packaging, creating a subtle yet eye-catching effect. Satin finish is perfect for packaging that requires a sophisticated and polished look without being too reflective. It offers a versatile option that complements a wide range of design aesthetics, making it a popular choice among our customers. Choose satin finish to achieve that perfect in-between look that strikes the right balance for your packaging.

Glossy
For a finish that exudes a high-gloss, shiny look and feel, our gloss finish is the perfect option. With its reflective properties, this finish adds a luxurious and polished touch to your packaging, making it stand out on the shelf. The gloss finish is particularly effective for designs with vibrant colors and bold graphics, as it enhances the brightness and contrast of your artwork. It is important to note that gloss finish is more prone to fingerprints due to its reflective nature. However, if you’re looking for a finish that truly makes a statement, gloss is the way to go.

Soft touch
If you’re looking for a finish that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to your packaging, our velvet finish is an excellent option. This finish looks like a matte finish, but has a soft, velvety feel to the touch, creating a unique tactile experience for the consumer. The velvet finish adds a layer of depth and richness to your designs, making it ideal for luxury products or those with intricate designs. The subtle sheen of the velvet finish also adds a hint of shine to your packaging, without being too reflective. Choose the velvet finish for a high-end look and feel that will make your products stand out on the shelf.
