Simplified Samples

Simplified Samples are a basic form of printed packaging samples that exclude any additional finishes or add-ons. They serve as a great way to preview your artwork on the packaging material and gain an understanding of how your packaging would look like in reality, although the actual colors in production may slightly vary.

What's Included

Here's what's included and excluded in a Simplified Sample:

  • Custom size
  • Custom material
  • Custom print in CMYK
  • Pantone or white ink
  • Finishes (e.g. matte, glossy)
  • Add-ons (e.g. foil stamping, embossing)

Important note about colors:

  • The print outcome in CMYK can differ from one print run to another due to variations in the production facilities, paper material, and the impact of finishes or coatings.
  • If color accuracy is critical for your packaging, we recommend using Pantone colors instead of CMYK or providing us with a physical sample for color matching. Samples with Pantone colors or requiring color matching are only available through our Press Proof or Pre-production Sample services. This ensures that the final outcome matches your desired color as closely as possible.

Important note about the sample:

  • The Simplified Samples are produced using sampling machines, which may not deliver the same level of print quality and sharpness as the final production outcome. Additionally, these samples may be slightly more difficult to fold, and you may notice minor creases or tears in the paper.

Deliverables

For each Simplified Sample, you will receive:

  • 1 dieline* of the Simplified Sample
  • 1 Simplified Sample delivered to your doorstep

*Note: dielines for inserts are only provided as part of our structural design service.

Process & Timeline

Generally, Simplified Samples take 6-8 days to complete and 7-10 days to ship.

1. Specify requirements

Select the packaging category of your choice and specify the details such as dimensions, material, and other specifications.

2. Place order

Submit your request for a sample order and complete the full payment to initiate the process.

3. Create dieline (2-3 days)

We'll provide you with a dieline, which is a template of the packaging structure, that you can use to add your artwork.

4. Send artwork

Apply your artwork to the provided dieline and submit it to us for verification.

Create sample (4-5 days)

The sample will be produced according to the specifications that have been mutually agreed upon.

Ship sample (7-10 days)

We will provide you with photographs of the completed sample and send the physical sample to the address you have specified.

Cost

Simplified Samples are available for all types of packaging except for those with rigid box structures.

*Note: we offer Simplified Samples of custom box inserts, provided that you can provide us with a dieline of the insert. If you don't have a dieline for your insert, we can assist you with our structural design service to create one.

Reimbursement Policy

If you order a Simplified Sample and then place a production order with identical specifications and artwork, you may be eligible for a reimbursement of the Simplified Sample fee. The following terms apply to each Simplified Sample purchase:

Suppose you have bought two identical Simplified Samples; in that case, you will need to fulfill the reimbursement criteria twice to get a full reimbursement for both samples.

Revisions & Redesigns

Here are the reimbursement terms for each Simplified Sample purchased: If you place a production order with identical specifications and artwork designs to the Simplified Sample you ordered, you can get a reimbursement of the Simplified Sample fee. However, please ensure to double-check the specifications and details of your sample before placing the order. Any changes in scope and artwork after the creation of the sample may incur additional costs.
